Happy New Year - Store Hours This Week
We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and wish you all the best in the coming year! Knit Happens will be closed early Wednesday December 31 at 4:00 p.m. and all day New Years Day, January 1, 2009. We will be open again on Friday January 2, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and Saturday January 3 from 10:00 - 6:00 p.m. Our regular hours will begin again next week - Monday - Saturday 10 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday 10:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Winter Session Classes Begin on Saturday!
Our winter session classes start off with the bang on Saturday January 3 with Beginning Knitting with Kathy at 1:30 - 3:30. There is only one space left in this class so sign up now.

January 5, 2009 - Beginning Crochet 10:30 - 12:30 a.m.
January 6, 2009 - Beginning Lace 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
January 6, 2009 - Portugese Knitting 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
January 8, 2009 - Cabled Hat Workshop 2:00 - 5:00 p.m.
January 8, 2009 - Beginning Knitting 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
January 9, 2009 - Baby Surprise Jacket 10:30 - 12:30 a.m.
January 10, 2009 - Felted Bowl Workshop 10:30 - 1:30

Class Corrections, New Yarns and Holiday Wishes!
Hi everyone - in our haste to get our Winter 2009 class schedule out we made a few small errors . Following are the corrections:
104 Portugese Knitting $45.00 There is an additional $5.00 fee for the Portugese hook.
108A Felted Clogs (4 hrs) $40.00
113 Magic Loop Socks - You will knit two socks at a time.
115 Three Button Cable Wrap (6 hrs) $60.00
117 Entrelac Scarf (2hrs) $20.00
Many of our January classes are filling up so be sure to sign up soon!
New Yarns
It's that time of year when CJ and Mary meet with various yarn rep's to order the new spring lines. New yarns that have already come in include:
Filatura de Crosa - Balu - this great fluffy wood, acrylic, cashmere and angora blend knits up at a chunky 10 sts/4 inches on size 9 needles. It comes in a variety of solids and variegated colors and great pattern support. Come and see the cute vest on display.
Louisa Harding - As Louisa Harding fans know she has fabulous pattern support.
The Louisa Harding yarns we recently put out:
Castello, 15sts/4inch on a size 10 needle, a wood, polyester, acrylic, nylon and fiscose blend in beautiful variegated collors.
Mulberry, 22 sts/4 inch on size 6 needle, a scrumptuous 100% silk in roughly 20 colorways.
Grace, 22 sts/4inch on size 6 needle, 50% merino, 50% silk hand-dyed yarn.
Cinnebar, 20sts/4 inch on size 7 needle, Cotton, silk, linen blend, a soft varieagated yarn with a small line of sparkle.
Mariposa, 18 sts/4inch on size 8 needle, viscose and cotton blend with a warm sheen.
Jasmine, 22 sts/4 inch on size 6 needle, cotton, bamboo, silk blend with a silver sparkle.
Glisten, 20 sts/4 inch on size 8 needle, nylon and polyester blend, another sparkly yarn that will pep up any outfit!
Hulda, 15 sts/4 inchy on size 10 needle, wool, acrylic and linen blend. A lofty soft chunky yarn.

Colibri from Katia yarns - a great thick and thin cotton blend - check out the cut cover-up for the spring!
Prima from Debbie Bliss - DB fans will love this 80% bamboo 20% merino wool DK weight yarn.
Finally we have just opened a shipment from Berroco that includes Seduce, Lattitude,Lumina, Berroco Sock Metallic (great little sparkle sock!) and "Brights" from Lang Jawoll sockThese yarns must be seen (and fondled!) to be appreciated - so come on in!
Many other new yarns will be arriving in January/February and we will bring you up to date as they come in to the store.

Knit Happens Winter 2009 Class Schedule
Mary has just finished the monumental task of organizing our Winter 2009 class schedule. You can download the schedule, (pdf format), by clicking here.
To register for classes please call us at the store at 480-941-3898 or come in to the store in person. We can take your name via email but until you pay a deposit of 50% we will not be able to guarantee your spot.
Please check out some of our new classes including, fair isle knitting, intarsia, beginning lace, baby surprise jacket, faux fair isle baby cardigan, several felting classes including felted clogs and entrelac knitting to name just a few.
Be sure to sign up early as class sizes are limited.
